Golden Meadow-Fourchon Tarpon Rodeo officials announced today their 2017 rodeo Admiral.

Howie J. Guidry has been named Admiral for the 69th Annual Golden Meadow-Fourchon Tarpon Rodeo which will take place July 6 – 8, 2017 at Moran’s Marina in Fourchon. A lifelong resident of Galliano, Guidry is married to the former Annette Berthelot for 33 years. They have 2 daughters, Valerie (Travis) Callais and Kayla (Jon) Danos. They are blessed with 8 grandchildren and another blessing arriving soon. Howie enjoys making memories with family and friends, hunting in MS at “Almost Heaven” during the winter and fishing in Fourchon at “Almost Heaven II” during the summer. He is on the Houma-Thibodaux Diocese Strategic Planning Team, Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Pastoral Council, Journey Towards Christ Core Team and enjoys helping out throughout the community.

Guidry, co-owner, along with his brother, Brent, of E&L Enterprises, Inc. was started by their dad (Larry) in 1971. He has been involved with the company since high school. E&L Enterprises, Inc. is a heavy construction company serving Lafourche, Terrebonne & Jefferson Parish and Port Fourchon along with many other areas where needed.

Guidry is very excited and humbled about this opportunity. “I am honored to represent a fun, family event as It’s Admiral of 2017. I encourage all families to come and make memories with their children fishing the rodeo (just like when you were a kid). While enjoying our Southern hospitality of great food and music under the air-conditioned tent, remember all the different categories we have to offer with great prizes.” Officials also unveiled that local artist, Dirk Guidry, has been commissioned to paint this year’s art work for the rodeo that will be used to produce shirts and the rodeo book.

The weigh scales for the 69th Annual Golden Meadow-Fourchon Tarpon Rodeo will be open Friday and Saturday, July 7th and July 8th. Live music, food, and drinks will be available on those dates under the pavilion, and the annual King of the Catch Cook-Off will take place on Friday, July 7th.
